Welcome to our fresh new community! My name is Anne and I started this website back in 1998 as a way for surfer girls to connect- this site is also home to the East Coast Wahine Championships, an all female surf contest that happens every August in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.The new site is long overdue and I’m so stoked with the look and feel, I hope you will bookmark us and check in often. I’ve recruited a few contributors who will be posting stories, photos, surf reports, and blogs about what’s going on in their surfing community. The two posts below this one introduce Rachel- writing to us from New York, and Ocean- writing to us from North Carolina. If you are interested in becoming a contributor just drop me an email.
We just put the forum up- while it has a different look, your same user name and password should work. If you haven’t joined you can do that now by clicking Register (at the top right of this page). We hope to get your avatars working soon. Keep an eye on the photos page (it’s a work in progress), there will be images from the last eight East Coast Wahine Championships! We will be adding more too- from reader submitted photos to photos that have appeared on our old site over time. We still have lots of work to do, but I wanted to get the new site up and running like I promised. I hope you like and let us know what you think! We value all feedback and suggestions.
