Wahine Contest Sucess!
Our seventh annual east coast wahine championships turned out to be our best event yet! We had a beautiful weekend with warm sunny skies, contestable surf, and about one hundred and eighty wahines, their families and fans blanketing Wrightsville Beach for two fun filled days of camaraderie and competition The spirit of the game was in the air with wahines from age five to fifty. There were mothers and daughters, sisters, and friends. Folks from way up north to way down south. We competed in shortboard, longboard, and bodyboard. We laughed, we cried, we surfed ourselves silly and caught up with old friends. A huge thanks to all the wonderful people that make this event happen!
