August 19-20, 2006 Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina Results Are In! It was the perfect ten! Wahines from Maine to Puerto Rico gathered on the shores of Wrightsville Beach for two days of friendly competition. The event went off without a hitch. Small waves in the one to three foot range remained consistent and light winds and not too hot temperatures made for a perfect ten-year celebration. The One Design division was a hit and the paddle relay race was so exciting, we will definitely bring that back next year. The Saturday night banquet featured a decade of women's surfing and a special award was presented to event founder Tammy Zybura who made the trek back east to see what had happened to the event she began back in 1997. Event photographer Ken Blevins captured it all, so please enjoy the photos .
