Mid Atlantic Regionals, Folly Beach, South Carolina May 7-9, 1999
Folly Beach, South Carolina hosted the 1999 Mid-Atlantic Regionals. Over 600 surfers from Delaware to Georgia made the trip to surf in warm water (no wetsuits for most of us was a real treat!)
The waves were only in the 2-3ft range with a hard southwest wind-swell, but at least it was ridable and the contest was on! Folly Beach is located just east of Charleston and is an awesome beach town with lots of friendly surfers and locals.
