Hi everyone, 
my name is Kristen and I will be writing a bit about the Northern Outer Banks, mostly Kill Devil Hills. I am from New Bern, NC and currently go to school in Boone at App. State working toward a BS in Graphic Arts and Imaging Technology.
I have surfed for a little over 10 years, mostly surfing in the Altantic Beach area. I am forever gratfeul for my parents driving me 45 min. to the beach every weekend. My mom honestly did not think I would stick with surfing, but supported me anyhow. I am not a contest surfer, though I did a few in the Nags Head/Kill Devil Hills area with decent results this past fall. My boss and friend pushed me into my first contest by signing me up without my knowledge, I do not think I would have ever done it had not been for them.
A few years ago I had an opportunity to be an Ocean Lifeguard for the Town of Kill Devil Hills. Since I spend 80% of my time awake on the beach, I think I can share with you info on some of the events going on in the Outer Banks as well as what spots are firing, what spots are dead and how the water temp is, and hopefully post photos.
